Travelling with my bike is always stressful, to the point that in the past I haven’t even taken my favourite bike on some trips. Might have something to do with that time in Frankfurt I saw a baggage handler pushing bike boxes out of a plane on to the concrete, 30 feet above the tarmac. I still remember the guy beside me, watching the same thing happen, and then seeing his cardboard bike box come up next in line, in what looked kind of like a public execution to the onlooking cyclists. Then came that slow motion scream “Noooooooo!”.
Scicon makes this and it’s awesome. In addition to my own use, I have lent this thing out a lot. If I could give it a frequent flyer number, it’d be super elite no question. This thing is beaten to hell, but still works beautifully.
